Abstract: Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) represents the 3rd most common tumor worldwide and the 6th in Egypt. It is still burdened by significant morbidity and mortality despite several therapeutic improvements. A gold standard for early detection and non invasive diagnosis is lacking. Aim was to assess faecal tumor M2-PK™ (ScheBo test) for detection of CRC.ln Adult Egyptians Methods: This cross-sectional, case-control study was carried out on 66 subjects. The cases group comprised 46 consecutive treatment- naïve patients with sporadic CRC proved by colonoscopy, histopathology and abdominal computed tomography which all together helped in tumor staging with TNM.............

Abstract: Upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) that are caused by human adenoviruses (HAdVs) affect in the whole population, but are more frequent in young children under the age of five years old. Due to the potential role of HAdVs in the URTIs cases of young children and there is no previous molecular study on these viruses in Iraq, this study aimed to detect of the prevalence of HAdVs in children suffering from URTIs by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The DNA extracted from 203 nasopharyngeal and throat swabs, they were collected from children aged less than 15 years with the respiratory illness. In addition to 30 swabs obtained from healthy children as a control group. All samples diagnosed with PCR technique by using specific primer for the seven hyper variable regions (HVR-7) in the hexon gene............

Abstract:A Simple and precise reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC)method was developed and validated for the estimation of Dothiepin hydrochloride in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form. The optimization is carried out on an Inertsil ODS 3 (250×4.6mm, 5μ particle size) long column with a mobile phase of Formic acid(0.02%): Acetonitrile in the ratio of 72:28v/v at a flow rate of 1ml/min with UV detection at 230 nm using LC solution software. The Linearity of Dothiepin hydrochloride was observed in the concentration range of 2-10μg/ml (R2=0.999). The proposed method has shown consistent recovery of Dothiepin 99.41-100.85% with the labeled amount in the pharmaceutical formulation. The proposed method was successfully applied for the quantification of active drug in tablet dosage form.

Abstract: Plate tectonics is the scientific theory that attempts to explain the movements of the Earth's lithosphere that have formed the landscape features we see across the globe today. By definition the word "plate" in geologic terms means a large slab of solid rock. "Tectonics" is a part of the Greek root for "to build" and together the terms define how the Earth's surface is built up of moving plates. The theory of plate tectonics itself says that the Earth's lithosphere is made up individual plates that are broken down into over a dozen large and small pieces of solid rock. These fragmented plates ride next to each other on top of the Earth's more fluid lower mantle to create different types of plate boundaries that have shaped the Earth's landscape over millions of years.

Abstract: We designed in this experiment to compare the growth characteristics of Spirulina maxima, which was cultivated in different culture vessels under greenhouse condition. Three types of culture vessels, i.e. transparent jar, polyethylene bags and water tank (greenhouse), were used in the experiment. In comparison to the others, the jar culture supported higher cell densities due to its higher culture temperature. The dry weight amount in jar cultures was 0.91 g/L at the end of the experiment, while it was 0.41 g/L in the others.............

Abstract: Ramipril is an ACE inhibitor mainly used for management of mild to severe hypertension and myocardial infarction. The poor solubility and wettability of Ramipril leads to poor dissolution and hence showing variations in bioavailability[1].The present study is aimed to improve the physicochemical properties of the drug using solid dispersion [SDs] techniques. Solid dispersions [SDs] of ramipril were prepared with different polymers or carriers such as polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K25, PVP K30 and PVP K90), polyethylene glycol (PEG 4000 and PEG 6000) at three drug : carrier ratios (1:1), (1:2) and (1:3). Different methods such as melting and kneading methods were used.............

Abstract: From kitchen to clinic" Curcumin plays a vital role in human life. Curcumin (=1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione) is a component of the Indian spice turmeric, manufactured from the rhizome of the perennial herb Curcuma longa that is widely cultivated in tropical countries in South and South East Asia, especially in China and India. Curcuma longa belongs to the Zingiberaceae (ginger) family[1-5].The structure of curcumin (C21H20O6) was first described in 1913 by Lampe and Milobedeska and shown to be feruloylmethane (Aggarwal et al., 2003). Curcumin (=CurcH) is the major component of three curcuminoids that give turmeric its characteristic yellow color and is used as a food colorant, flavoring and additive (Figure 1-2). The minor curcuminoid components are demethoxycurcumin (=DMCurcH) and bis-demethoxycurcumin (=BDMCurcH) in which one or both –OMe functionalities at the outer phenol rings are removed.
