ABSTRACT: In India, agriculture plays an important role for development in food production. Land and water are essential for agriculture and the nation's economic growth. Over 80% of the exploitable water resources in the nation are used for agriculture. Making wise use of the water resources at hand is crucial to the overall expansion of the agriculture industry and the targeted GDP growth rate. This led to the creation of the Irrigation Scheme, which aims at increasing the area under efficient methods of irrigation viz. Drip irrigation. Providing irrigation water directly to......

ABSTRACT: Résumé Dacryodes edulis (G. Don) H.J.

ABSTRACT: Crossbreeding and selection criteria has been considered as a quick way of increasing performance of low productive breeds. The goal of this study was to assess the reproductive and productive potential of indigenous and crossbred cows at the farmer level through artificial insemination in rural areas of Gaibandha district. A total of 200 dairy cows were examined across three genotypes. According to their genetic composition selected genotypes were Friesian cross (F×I=90), Sahiwal cross (SL×I=70) and Indigenous (I=40). The three breeds differ significantly in terms of reproductive attributes. Results showed that shortest age at puberty (20.77±0.10 month), age at first service (22.65±0.22 month), age at first calving (31.95±0.30 month), gestation period (278.44±0.97 days) and calving interval (404.20±2.31 days) in Friesian cross.....

ABSTRACT: This study explores the effect of diverse experimental diets on milk quality in Friesian dairy cows across Bomet County. It incorporated the use of a supplementary feed mixture with a dry matter content of 400 g/kg, comprising lucerne, greenleaf desmodium, sweet potato vines, and chicory. These ingredients were finely chopped and mixed in a ratio of 1:2:3:1. Supplementation was implemented at varying levels, denoted as T1 (0%), T2 (10%), T3 (20%), and T4 (30%), relative to the estimated daily dry matter intake of 4% of the live body weight of the dairy cow. The basal diet, consisting of Boma Rhodes with a dry matter content of 400 g/kg, was utilized. The study spanned nine weeks....

ABSTRACT: The most prevalent tumors in female dogs are mammary gland tumors, with approximately 50% being malignant. Surgical resection is the preferred treatment; however, the high risk of post-operative recurrence and metastasis leading to death or euthanasia poses a significant challenge. This study aims to comprehensively analyze and assess the clinical outcomes of 105 cases of canine mammary tumors, examining associated risk factors for recurrence within a 2-year period. Factors such as tumor size, surgical method, location, weight, age, and lymph node invasion were......

ABSTRACT: Pleurotus eryngii is a delicious edible mushroom that is widely cultivated in many parts of the world and is highly prized for its unique flavor and excellent medicinal properties. Its enzymes, phenolic compounds and reactive oxygen species are key to its browning and aging and can affect nutrition and flavor. Pleurotus eryngii also possesses antioxidant, anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-tumor, immunomodulatory and bacteriostatic properties. In this paper, the mechanism of functional properties and the current research status of Pleurotus eryngii in food are reviewed.

ABSTRACT: Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of phlebotomy on whole blood viscosity [WBV] and hematocrit [HCT] levels in beagle dogs with initially high measurements, and to assess the physiological responses following phlebotomy. Materials and Methods: Ten neutralized beagle dogs, uniformly raised, were used for this study. The dogs were divided into two groups based on their HCT values: those with values above 50% and those below. We measured WBV and HCT before and after phlebotomy and monitored C-reactive protein [CRP] levels to assess inflammatory responses. Further, we observed changes in fibrinogen levels and other hematological parameters post-phlebotomy......
