Abstract: Iran occupies a key position within the Arabia–Eurasia collision zone, where regional convergence is expressed through a complex combination of thrust, transpressional, strike-slip, and oblique-slip deformation. Earthquake focal-mechanism stress-tensor inversion provides an important seismological basis for evaluating the orientation and spatial variability of the active tectonic stress field; however, published results are distributed across individual tectonic provinces and differ in focal-mechanism datasets, inversion methods, spatial resolution, and uncertainty reporting.
