Abstract: The dynamic behavior of soils is relevant to geotechnical, structural, seismic, transportation, and machine-foundation engineering. Although continuum and finite-element formulations provide detailed descriptions of soil behavior, reduced-order models remain valuable for preliminary analysis, parameter identification, control-oriented studies, and real-time simulation.
