Abstract: With increasing awareness on food waste, various initiatives have been introduced over the years to control food waste created in food supply chain. However, evaluating prevention of food waste is still as nascent stage and proper methods are still not prepared to determine their effectiveness. It hampers finding best practices among current initiatives and giving priority to the most promising initiatives. To meet these needs and propose an ideal approach to assess food waste prevention programs, an evaluation framework has been prepared by the “European Commission Joint Research Centre” for preventing food waste.........
