Title | : | A Causal Study of The Linkages Between The Stock Market And Macroeconomic Variables |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Lakshmi Rawat |
Abstract: With changes in economy comes in change in financial markets and stock movements, as the change is dynamic and previous research in the same area had happened in a different environment when compared to present economy, effect of macro-economic variables on stock prices has a further scope for research. Efficiency in capital markets can be categorized into three types as per Ongkrutaraksa, (1996) as (1) Allocate efficiency; 2) Transactional efficiency; and 3) Informational efficiency. Academic or Pareto efficiency is used in assessing the welfare effects of equilibrium market resource allocations. The objective of the present study is to explore the existence of causal relationship between select macro-economic variables and stock prices of Nifty 50, which is taken to be the proxy for stock market movement. Econometric analysis using granger causality test has been used on time series data for all the variables. The results indicate towards the existence of partial causal relationship.

Title | : | Micro Aspects of Management of Non-Performing Assets in India |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | P. Loganathan |
Abstract: Indian Banking Industry stays a life support system to our Economy. In our 71 years of independence we have witnessed huge changes in the socio-economic landscape of Asia's third largest economy. The annual economic survey took a very important centre stage this year in the wake of two tumultuous international developments (Brexit and Political changes in advanced economies) and two radical policy actions domestically (Demonetization and passage of GST constitutional amendment bill). High levels of bad loans have brought down credit growth in public sector banks (PSBs) to historic lows, despite the fact that private banks continue to be aggressive in lending. The Non-Performing Assets have always created a big problem for the banks in India. It is just not only problem for the banks but for the economy too. The success of banks depends upon methods of managing NPAs and keeping them within tolerance..........

Title | : | Are Indian Stock Markets driven by fundamentals |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | R. Sushama || Dr. V. Sudha |
Abstract: As part of 15th anniversary celebration Moneycontrol.com brought performance of Nifty 50 over past 15 years and the results are mind boggling. It is quite revealing from tracking nifty performance that certain stock had outperformed in 15 years while others are under performer. It is interesting to notice that Nifty has witnessed major change and many stocks are no longer part of index then. Has the good/bad performance of the Nifty stocks got to do with the consistent/inconsistent performance of the companies behind the stocks? Or, has it got to do with the way the equities are approached and appraised by broader market participants, who are prone to fear and greed, leading to wide swings in returns for investors?Finding an answer to the above questions would not only help in putting things in perspective but would also help in deciding if it would really be prudent on investor's part to take the route of equities while deploying their savings ,with the...........

Title | : | SBI Consolidation – Euphoria |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | G.Naga Laxmi |
Abstract: India currently needs its largest bank, the State Bank of India, to be at the vanguard of its economy, to stimulate stagnant economic growth. Merger of SBI with its 5 associate banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank which took place on 1 April, 2017 is the largest merger in history of Indian Banking Industry. The merger will result in a "win-win situation" for the bank and its associates – SBI's reach and network will multiply, efficiency will likely increase with the rationalisation of branches, there will be a common treasury pooling and there will be proper deployment of skilled resources. Indeed, the SBI - associates merger would be a test case for a bigger consolidation to follow in the public sector bank space which the government is planning. It may not be all smooth sailing. There will be plenty of challenges...........

Title | : | Corporate Governance In India |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | V.Namita |
Abstract: Corporate Governance is a set of policies, guidelines and regulations that guide Board of Directors in running a Company. It is essential because ownership of the Company is different from management – shareholders are the real owners while the day-to-day management is vested in the Board. The Board is thus answerable to the shareholders. Not just the shareholders, there are other stakeholders too who are affected by the actions of the Board. In such a scenario, there should be system which provides insights into how Board should manage the Company. However, Corporate Governance is not a new concept in INDIA. The concept of good governance has been elaborately explained by Kautilya in "Arthasasthra‟. Similarly, our Vedas and Upanishads stress on transparency and truthfulness............

Abstract: Many people have different innovative business ideas. But these people need money or a loan to fund their idea. The most common method is to apply for a loan from bank. Crowd funding is concept of gathering small amounts of money from many parties in exchange for a form of value to those parties. This is practical money making concept which consists of production, sales, jobs creation, social responsibility and income to the government.
