Abstract: Synthesis of 1,4-phenylene bis(3-aminobenzenesulfonate) was synthesized by reduction of condense product of hydroquinone and m-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride. The compound was used as a bifunctional middle component in the preparation of tetra azo acid dyes. This di amino compound was tetra azotized and coupled with naphthalene based acid coupling component to give various tetra azo acid dyes. The obtained dyes were characterized by spectroscopic technique (IR, NMR) and the dyeing assessment of all dyes was evaluated on wool, silk and nylon fabrics. These dyes gave brown, violet, yellow, orange and pink shades on each fibers with good to very good fastness properties. The percentage dye bath exhaustion, fixation have studied.

Abstract: Traditional medicine plays an important role in disease especially in developing countries. The essential oils of Ocimum species showed anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and insecticidal activities. Essential oils from O. kilimandscharicum are widely used in modern perfumery and the pharmaceutical industry. However information about the chemical composition remains scanty. This study reviewed the chemical composition of essential oils the plant. Peer-reviewed articles were retrieved from Scopus, Science Direct, SciFinder and Google Scholar. Fifteen articles reporting on chemical composition of essential oils extracted from O. kilimandscharicum were accessed. The major compounds in the essential oils were identified to be camphor, linalool, limonene.....

Abstract: Diazonium salt was prepared by dissolving 2-amino-5-nitro pyrimidine with sodium nitrite and sulphuric acid in presenceof water. The temperature was maintained up to 50c. The solution was kept for 15 minutes with occasional stirring to complete the diazotization. Then diazonium salt was poured into the ice-cold solution of 8-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin in 20ml of 10% sodium hydroxide solution and kept for 1h at 00-50c. The pH was maintained up to 5-6. 5-(5-nitro pyrimidinylazo)-8-(1-hydroxy hexyl oxy)- 4- methyl coumarin was synthesized by treating 5-(5-nitro pyrimidinylazo)-8-hydroxy-4-methyl coumarin with 1-chloro-6-hydroxy hexane in the presence of potassium hydroxide........

Abstract: Surface and groundwater in Eyaa Community, Onne, Rivers State were assessed in this study. Hydrogeochemical properties were determined by plotting the Piper, Durov and Gibbs diagrams were determined using an adopted mathematical model, and classification of water for irrigation purposes made by plotting the Wilcox diagrams. The results of plot of the Durov diagram showed that the Hydrogeochemistry of groundwater in the area was characterized majorly by Ion Exchange and Simple Dissolution processes. Plots of the Wilcox diagrams indicate that fresh and ground water in the area is suitable for irrigation. The results show that the fresh and ground water bodies are very suitable for irrigation purposes and should be well utilized.

Abstract: In this paper, waste water obtained from sugar industry in Delhi-NCR and other regions was characterized for basic parameters. The effluent was dark brown colored with decaying molasses smell and acidic in nature (pH 3.9-7.9). The effluent having high organic and inorganic load showing high electrical as conductivity 3180 - 4750 μS/cm in untreated waste and 1910- 2134 μS/cm in treated waste water. Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total hardness, Phenol, Cr(VI), total Cr , heavy metals like Zn, Cu Ni and others were determined . The physico-chemical parameters were calculated as per the standards approved by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Biological activity, seed germination and root shoot length were also determined..
