Abstract: The aim of the work presented in this paper was to study the correlation between self-ignition temperature and physicochemical characteristics (pH, density and alcoholic degree)characterizing the hydroalcoholic gel.Data of self-ignition temperatures were obtained using the isothermal oven procedure described in standard DIN 51794.The results obtained throw light on that any correlation were observedbetween the alcoholic degree and the self-ignition point (r = -0.022)and between density and alcoholic degree (r = -0.232) the variables evolve in anopposite direction. Also, negative correlation,but not significant,were observedbetween the alcoholic degree and the pH(r = -0.527) andno correlation were observed between self-ignition temperature and the pH (r = 0.054). These results mean that alcoholic degree and the pH therefore evolve in an opposite direction.

Abstract: The oxidation of inositol by cerium(IV) has been studied experimentally in the acidic medium at fixed ionic strength and temperature. The reaction showed a first order dependence with with respect to [Ce(IV)] and less than 1st order kinetics in both [H+] and [INOS]. By increasing the values of both ionic strength and dielectric constant of the reaction medium which increases the rate of oxidation reaction. The addition of Ce(III) products to the reaction mixture does not show and any significance or increase in the rate of reaction. The oxidation product of inositol has been identified by the chemical reactions and tools and spectroscopically inosose. The compatiable mechanism for the oxidation reaction has been put forward and the rate law associated with the reaction mechanism has been derived. The activation experimentally.

Abstract: 5-formyl-8-hydroxy quinolone was synthesized by treating 8-hydroxy quinolone with chloroform in presence of 80% aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide at 800c for 12h. After, subsequent removal of chloroform and ethanol, the residue was diluted with water and acidified with 1% hydrochloric acid until complete precipitation. The precipitate was dried and the product was extracted with n-hexane. 5-formyl-8-allyloxy quinoline was prepared by the treatment of 5-formyl-8-hydroxy quinolone with allyl bromide in presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate in the solvent medium of acetonitrile at 800c for 10h. 5-(indan-1,3-dione-2-methylen)-8-allyloxy quinoline was synthesized by the treatment of 5-formyl-8-allyloxy quinoline with indan-1,3-dione in dioxane and heated under reflux for 50h. Abstract: The Oxidation of alcohol by using polymer supported oxidizing agent has been studied experimentally. The kinetics of the oxidation of 1-Phenylethanol (PE) by PS-Chromate has been followed by monitoring the increase in the absorbance of reaction intermediate. The reaction followed by zero order behavior, being zero order in each reactant. The rate of reaction increase with increase in weight of oxidant, concentration, temperature and dielectric constant of the solvent. A free radical scavenger affects the reaction rate. The stiochiometry has been found to be 1mol PE: 1mol of Chromate. Thermodynamic parameters evaluated are [Ea] = 85KJ mol-1, [ΔH#]=62 KJ mol-1, [ΔS#]=-75 JK mol-1, [ΔG#] =315KJ mol-1, and [A] =3.7 x 10-5s-1 results under pseudo zero order conditions are in agreement with the rate law. Abstract: The increasing worldwide contamination of water bodies with thousands of pharmaceutical recalcitrant compounds is one of the key environmental problems facing the Earth. Therefore, there is need to develop a model to combat this situation. Classical Fenton reaction is used in this study to generate HO∙ in-situ for the mineralization of one of the major recalcitrant (primidone) from wastewater. Influences of major operating parameters on the removal efficiency were investigated using Center Composite Design (CCD) of Response Surface Methodology (RSM). 22μl H2O2 and 8.8mg Fe2+ at pH 3 was found to be the optimum with 98.84% removal within 50 minutes. Meanwhile, as the initial primidone dose decreases to 100 mg/L, 99.77% removal was achieved and at 50 & 75 mg/L, 100% achieved within 20 minutes. Both statistical and experimental validations of the Model were verified and found to be in good agreement. Pseudo-first order kinetics reaction rate and half life were obtained to be 0.039 min-1 and 17.77mins Respectively..

Abstract:A simple and efficient method for the synthesis of 2, 3-dihydro-1H-1, 5-benzo diazepines have been developed using zirconium tetrachloride as catalyst. A variety of carbonyl compounds and orthophenylenediamines were reacted very well in this condensation reaction. All the reactions were carried out at EDC reflux conditions.
