Abstract: Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are infections that can impact any section of the urinary tract- the kidneys, bladder, ureters and urethra. They are among the most prevalent bacterial diseases, with over fifty percent of women experiencing at least one episode in their lifetime. Although urinary tract infections are usually managed....

Abstract: Costus afer is used in ethnomedicine to treat and manage a wide range of diseased conditions. Thirty compounds were identified in the GC/MS analysis of Costus afer stem juice. Among the compound identified are; 2 Furancaboxaldehyde, 5-(hydroxymethyl)- was present in 70.357% forming one of the major constituents in the juice and Dihydro-3-methylene-5-methyl-2-furanone (0.149%) having the least quantity. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectophotometry analysis of Costus afer aqueous leaves extract revealed the presence of seventy-seven bio-active.......

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus type 2 or (T2DM) or Non-Insulin Depended Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) is the most common endocrine disorder whose incidence has been continuously growing around the world with the number of individual’s affected anticipated to double in the next decade as the world’s population ages. As a result of this tendency, it is quickly becoming a syndrome in some parts of the world, with the number of individuals affected anticipated to double in the next decade as the world’s population ages, adding to the already existing load on healthcare....

Abstract: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents the majority of lung cancer cases and remains a major contributor to global cancer mortality. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway have transformed NSCLC therapy, yet a significant proportion of patients exhibit poor or no response. This study integrates next-generation sequencing (NGS)-derived genetic alterations with structural bioinformatics analysis of PD-L1 (PDB ID: 8ALX) to evaluate molecular determinants influencing immunotherapy outcomes. Computational.......

Abstract: Thirty albino rats were divided into six groups. Groups 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were induced diabetes using Alloxan. Groups 1, 2 and 3 were treated with 200mg/kg, 400mg/kg, and 600mg/kg body weights of the plant extract respectively. Group 4 (positive control) was treated with the antidiabetic drug Metformin. Group 5 (negative control) was untreated, Group 6 was the normal control. All rats were fed with rat feed and distilled water ad libitum for 28 days and were then sacrificed for blood collection and analysis. Results revealed a significant decrease in HB.....

Abstract: Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) harbors a great number of Toxin-Antitoxin (TA) systems, in which half of them belong to virulence linked proteins B and C (VapBC) family that has a typical PilT N-terminus domain and ribonuclease activity. Functional perceptions into Mtb VapBC TA modules untangled their function in adaptation to numerous host-mediated stressors, including oxidative/nitrosative, chemical and nutrient starvation concomitant....

Abstract: Background: Snakebite is one of the neglected tropical diseases that affects most rural populations with increased mortality. The commercially available antivenoms are expensive and there is less effort to the production of antivenom from indigenous antivenoms that can neutralize various forms of venoms. This study investigated the effects of co-administration of different concentrations of Naja melanoleuca and Bitis arietans venoms on biological parameters.
