ABSTRACT: Aquaculture is in great demand for developing sustainable and highly efficient aquaculture system in the world, especially in the countries like Bangladesh where fish is the major source of protein for almost 79% people of the country. To tackle these aquaculture challenges, a new technology has surfaced in the last few years that has become known as Biofloc technology. A novel technology has developed over the last few years, now termed Biofloc technology that may offer a more sustainable and efficient way of reducing environmental impacts, increasing resource utilization efficiency and increasing production yields......

ABSTRACT: Varietal response and appropriate use of chemical mutagens play a crucial role in improving tomato germination and early seedling growth. To assess the effect of different doses of Ethyl Methane Sulphonate (EMS) on the germination and seedling growth of tomato, an experiment was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Horticulture Division, Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA), Mymensingh, during the period....

ABSTRACT: Kenyan Agriculture has faced a lot of challenges caused by various invasive insect crop pest. This has threatened the efforts of the Kenyan government in actualizing Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs) towards agriculture. Invasion of insect pest in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly on the cereals crops is one of the major threat to their effective utilization. Although several methods have been utilized towards the control of these pests, optimum utilization is still a challenge. This is because Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies have been underexplored...

ABSTRACT: Climate-resilient value-chain development requires locally attributable evidence on production practices, advisory services, institutional capacity, and market constraints. This study synthesized Migori County evidence from 12 Climate Resilient, Low Carbon, and Sustainable Agriculture (CRLCSA) assessment documents, comprising four narrative reports and eight Kobo Toolbox report exports. County-labelled submissions were separated from pooled regional summaries. A finding was attributed to Migori only when the submission location was explicit or...

ABSTRACT: Smallholder sugarcane farmers require both effective crop-management support and financing arrangements that reflect the long interval between production expenditure and harvest income. This study examined associations between experiential learning-based technical assistance, perceived sugarcane productivity, and loan repayment patterns in Awendo and Uriri sub-counties of Migori County, Kenya. A convergent parallel mixed-methods design combined farmer questionnaires, key-informant interviews, and focus-group discussions. Paired productivity ratings were available for 81 farmers and were measured on a five-point ordinal scale. Median perceived productivity increased....
