ABSTRACT: The study determined Body Mass Index as a Predictor and Incidence of Overweight and Obesity among Staff in Tertiary Educational Institutions in Bauchi State, Nigeria. The total population of this study was 5,845 academic and non-academic staff of the six (6) Tertiary Educational Institutions. Proportionate sampling technique was used and selected five hundred and eighty five (585) samples (10%) but only four hundred and forty three (443) participated in the study. The instruments used for data collection in this study were weighing scale attached with Stadiometer to measure weight and height of the participants respectively. Quetelet Equation (body weight in kilogrammes divide by height in metre squared (kg/m2) was used and computed body mass index of each participant. Descriptive statistics.....

ABSTRACT: Background: Motivation to engage in a sport and fully contribute toward team goals has been a basic subject in understanding the ways to success, achievement and sustainability. Motives have been studied long ago, however, the modern way of studying them needs to consider specific areas (Developing countries), level of practice (Amateur or professional), and a specific sport. This study focused on the role of players' participation motives in predicting success and achievements in Rwanda Handball league, a developing league with limited resources.
Method: The study participants were 165 players from 10 teams. The study applied a descriptive design of correlational type. A Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (2SPSS) software version 26.0 served as the basis for data analysis at 0.05 alpha level of significance. The data collection instruments were the Physical Activity and Leisure Motivation Scale (3PALMS), and team success record sheet.
Results: Most respondents (47.3%) were between 21 and 25 years old, 90.3% not married and 62.4% from academic institutions. Regression revealed significant results F(8,164) = 4.422, p (.000) < a (.05) on the prediction of team success by Sports Participation......

ABSTRACT: The main objective of this work is to measure the level of organizational stress existing in a sports organization, and as an extension the theoretical objective: diagnose this organization from this perspective, having as diagnostic tool the organizational stress index, to further establish measures impose, as well as the nature of these measures.
A secondary objective, of a practical nature, is the identification of stressors that act more aggressively, in order to be a useful tool and other sports organizations, which face more or less similar problems and which, without launching a study that requires time and financial resources, could use the conclusions and quickly apply remedial measures.

ABSTRACT: Background: In India, about 80% of rural homes use biomass fuel as their cooking and heating energy source. Many women in rural homes use closed kitchen for cooking without exhaust. Biomass fuel contains hundreds of chemical compounds that include particles, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide2.Biomass fuel is one of the most important risk factor for developing airflow limitations and subsequent Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in women of rural area2.COPD is characterized by poorly reversible airflow obstruction secondary to an abnormal host response to noxious environmental stimuli like biomass fuel. COPD is important cause of mortality, it is fourth leading cause of death3.Early detection of airflow limitation is essential to prevent the continuous deterioration of lung function3.The peak flow meter is a simple, easy & portable tool that measures.......

ABSTRACT: The aim of this case study was to report the LnRMSSDM and LnRMSSDCV responses to ITL, ETL and performance from four 3-week training periods at altitudes of: 1) 200m PRE, 2) 2,250m, 3) 2,450m, and 4) 200m POST.The subject was a national level triathlete (age 21 years, height 179 cm, weight 67.5 Kg, fat mass 8.5%). Conditioning was assessed by HR values at submaximal effort (HRsubmax), internal training load (ITL) was measured using the training impulse (TRIMP) method proposed by Banister (1991), external training load (ETL) was calculated multiplying total training distance by velocity and adding the product of elevation gained by gravity, the running ITL:ETL ratio was calculated dividing the mean ITL by the mean ETL of every period, resting heart rate......

ABSTRACT: Background: COVID‑19 has caused unprecedented societal turmoil, triggering a rapid, still ongoing, transformation of healthcare providers on a global level. In this new landscape, it is highly important to acknowledge the challenges this pandemic poses to the care of cancer patients. Physical rehabilitation services are very important for post-breast cancer surgeries patients in order to improve shoulder range of motion, muscle power, recovery of patient's functional abilities and improving their quality of life. In this way, many post-breast cancer surgeries....
