Abstract: Regular leisure activities obviously have their health benefits and effect on productivity and when adults do not have enough of leisure activities or rest, there are bound to be negative repercussions. University lecturers are expected to perform optimally, but there are mitigating circumstances like external stressors and inadequate provision of facilities that may lead to stress and, if not well managed, can affect the productivity level. This survey was conducted on Lecturers in Nigerian Universities where 250 were randomly selected from six Nigerian Universities cutting across Private, Federal and State Universities. Five research questions guided the study and two hypotheses were tested. A set of researcher-designed and validated questionnaire 'Questionnaire on Lecturers' Leisure Time Activities' (QLLTA) were used to collect data. Analysis was done using percentages, Chi-Squared and Factorial analysis. Results show a somewhat adequate awareness of leisure time activities and provision of facilities; however Lecturers cited work and time constraints and family responsibilities as possible deterrents to participating in leisure activities. The introduction of specialists like leisure counselors, among others, was recommended to conduct leisure education.

Abstract: Low back pain is considered one of the commonest condition in the western and industrialized countries. It is estimated that up to 50% of adults experience low back pain during their life span. People of all age group can be effected by this menace irrespective to their gender and quality of life. It has become one of the leading causes for the visit to physician thus also puts a heavy burden on the currency of the country. Physiotherapy is the most widely used form of treatment adopted for gaining relief from low back pain. The exercises include stretching, strengthening, range of motion exercises, McKenzie therapy and core stability exercises other techniques like muscle energy technique etc.

Abstract: The Tunisian habituation ability to the profound changes that affect with the same way all industrialized countries depends on the skills, qualifications and openness to the world. The Practices and cultural consumption of school youth are a major asset for social and economic development of modern Tunisia. The first studies on the culture was made by Tylor in 1871, who defined culture as the knowledge beliefs, arts, laws and customs acquired by man as a member of society. The time of the educated youth, characterized by behaviors and tastes to this class is associated with specific cultural practices and sociability. This study shows that leisure activities among sfaxians aged 15 to 25 years perfectly illustrate these characteristics. Indeed, being young and single mode promotes leisure outward. School youth reject practices leisure with sociability centered on family and develop a strong friendly sociability prefer reading novels and finally practice especially psychomotor sports games (predominantly female) and sociomotor (male-dominated).

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to find out pre-competition anxiety between national and state level women athletes. Due to the fact that during competition athletes' mental state greatly affects their stamina explosion, which finally influence the result of final competition. Anxiety in sports is considered as an important issue for many athletes. It refers to a sort of nervous and fear emotion formed by frustration of self-esteem and self- confidence, or increasing of the sense of failure and guilty, which is resulted by the threat from being unable to achieve goals or to overcome obstacles at the right time. For the purpose of the study the subjects were selected randomly from 63rd State Athletic Championships of West Bengal to measure the pre-competition anxiety by a questionnaire Sport Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT) developed by Rainer Marten. 25 national level and 25 state level women athletes selected randomly from the said Athletic Championships. To find out pre-competition anxiety between national level and state level women athletes 't' test was applied. The result showed that there was significant difference on pre-competition anxiety between national level and state level women athletes. The national level women athletes had less pre-competition anxiety than the state level women athletes.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to find out the efficiency of composed plyometric training program on beginners Handball players force capabilities in their usual training period. The plyometric training program was applied during 16 week period where was attended twenty-one 12-19 years old beginners Handball players. Twelve of them were female and nine male handball players. There were three control tastings. All subjects participated in following tests: standing long jump, depth leap long jump, medicine ball throws up in 10 seconds; medicine ball overhead throws forward against the wall in 10 seconds, maximal vertical jumps to the maximal height in 10 seconds, maximal vertical jump height. Testing results statistical analysis has shown athletes legs and arms speed force reliable improvement. Standing long jump, depth leap long jump and maximal vertical jump height test results, what has shown legs explosive power, has not shown remarkable reliable difference (P>0.05) . Medicine ball throws and maximal vertical jumps to the maximal height in 10 seconds, what show speed force improvement, showed reliable difference (P<0.01).

Title | : | Changes During Passive Recovery In Lower Limbs Tiredness After Strenuous Workout |
Country | : | India |

Abstract: Lower limbs tiredness is a widely accepted indicator for recovery state prediction. The study was designed and purposed to know the rate and trend of lower limbs tiredness recovery after strenuous workout in passive state. Ten athletes from LNIPE, Gwalior having almost similar anthropometric measurements, physiological capacity, chronological age(18-19 year), training age(5-6 year), event(sprinters) etc. residing in same campus having similar daily routine were selected as participant in this experiment. The experiment was conducted in a highly controlled environment using sophisticate equipments. Target Heart Rate Zone of the workout lasting for 20 minutes was 80%-90% of their Maximum Heart Rate. Three readings including pre, post and 30 minutes post workout was considered for both the two tests (Isometric Leg Strength Test and Sergeant Jump Test) selected for the purpose. rANOVA was employed separately to derive out meaningful information from the raw data. In both the tests well controlled workout for 20 minutes resulted in significant increase state of post workout readings. With passage of time after 30 minutes post passive recovery there was no improvement in state of tiredness. Thus scope of future research is there in planning out means and methods to promote lower limbs tiredness recovery during this post recovery period.

Abstract: The aim of the present research was to determine the effect of aerobic training on Percentage of Body Fat, total Cholesterol (TC) and High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C) among obese Children. For this purpose, 20 obese Children (age17-25) were selected. The subjects received endurance training only one session in the morning between 6-7 am for three alternate days a week for six weeks. To analyse the collected data,'t'-ratio was used at 0.05 level of confidence. The results showed that there were significant changes in Percentage of Body Fat, TC and HDL-C. It was concluded that the aerobic training is widely believed to induce changes in the lipid profiles and Percentage of Body Fat of Children.
