Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Arul Kishore A, Rashia Begum S, Arumaikkannu G |
Abstract: Additive manufacturing (AM) is one the advanced process for building up a component layer by layer, with one layer of material was bonded to the previously laid layer using a 3D design data. In the field of medical science AM is very much useful in the development of Bone Scaffolds. The bone scaffold needs the good level of porosity for the cultivation of cells. In this work, an algorithm for a novel structure was introduced for the scaffolds with the cylindrical shells arranged in a circular pattern which have the theme of flexible porosity. Scaffold models were developed using CATIA V5 for four different porosities. The novel structures made of Poly Amide (PA 2200) material were fabricated using a commercially available Selective Laser Sintering machine (SLS). The differences in scaffold theoretical and experimental porosities were investigated and the percentage of error was discussed.

Authors | : | N.R.Vikram, S.Sivaraman, R.Balamurugan |
Abstract: An efficient traffic management system is the frequent traffic jam at major junctions call. Bad traffic management leads to wastage of time, man-hours and increase in pollution levels that can be avoided on a city-wide scale by this system. This paper proposes to implement an intelligent traffic controller using real time image processing by developing self-adaptive system. Feature (Edge) detection is an important technique in many image processing applications such as pattern recognition, object recognition, medical image processing etc… The image sequences from a camera are analyzed using 2D edge detection and object counting methods to obtain the most efficient technique. This was done under MATLAB. By using, the obtained information the development of an android application can be done, by which the user can measure the traffic density at a particular location of choice.

Title | : | Enhancing the Security of Web Application for Anomaly Detection |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | R. ArulMurugan, R. Subash, R. Boopathi, N. Divya |
Abstract: Web application is an application that is accessed over a network such as the Internet. They are increasingly used for critical services, in order to adopt with increase in demand and data complexity web application are moved to multitier Design. As web servers must be publicly available around the clock the server is an easy target for outside intruders. Thus web applications are become a popular and valuable target for security attacks. These attacks have recently become more diverse and attention of an attacker have been shifted from attacking the front-end and exploiting vulnerabilities of the web applications in order to corrupt the back-end database system. In order to penetrate their targets, attackers may exploit well known service vulnerabilities. To protect multitier web applications several intrusion detection systems has been proposed. An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is used to detect potential violations in database security. In every database, some of the attributes are considered more sensitive to malicious modifications compared to others.

Title | : | Implementation of BIST Test Generation Scheme based on Single and Programmable Twisted Ring Counters |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | N.Dilip kumar , B.Viswanathan |
Abstract:Twisted-ring-counters (TRCs) have been used as built-in test pattern generators for highperformance circuits due to their small area overhead and simple control circuitry. When compared to other pattern generators TRC often requires long test time to achieve high fault coverage and large storage space to store required control data and TRC seeds. Programmable Twisted Ring Counter-based on-chip test generation scheme is to minimize both the required test time and test data volume. Programmable Twisted Ring Counter operates on test per clock method to reduce the test time. To reduce the storage data for testing, seed and control vector determination process is used to achieve the less storage data in ROM.

Title | : | Improvement of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in Plastic Injection Moulding Industry |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | S.R.Vijayakumar , Dr.S.Gajendran |
Abstract: Injection moulding is a plastic-forming process used in the production of most of the plastic parts (about 70%) in automobile industries. The manufacturing industry has gone through significant changes in the recent years. For a good manufacturing plant, the most recommended thing is quality, efficiency and operating cost. These parameters depend on the function of the equipments used in the industry. Nowadays a remarkable improvement has taken place in the maintenance management of the physical assets and productive systems to reduce the wastage of energy and resources. Because of this, the organization should introduce a maintenance system to improve and increase both the quality and productivity continuously.OEE is one of the performance evaluation methods that are most common and popular in the production industries. In this work, the OEE of the injection moulding process was increased from 61% to 81% through the implementation of availability, better utilization of resources, high quality products and also raised employee morale and confidence.

Title | : | Improvement on detection method and on product sealing Feature on sealed version gear reduction starters for Elimination of water ingress failure |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | R. Dharani Kumar , Dr.R. Kesavan |
Abstract: An auto electrical parts manufacturing company located in Padi, Chennai, is manufacturing Gear reduction starters to various customers for their trucks and buses applications. Starter motors will be placed very close to the engine so that it can trigger the engine through it's ring gear upon switching on the ignition key. In India the road conditions are like a place where you cannot avoid water splashing on the engine compartment of trucks and buses. Hence without any doubt the water splashing from the road will get entered into the starter motor leading to shorting of motor. To avoid this firm has launched starters with water tight sealed version. Now the firm is facing water ingress issue on these sealed version starters as field failures (warranty issue) leading to loss in business. An analysis has been made to find out the root cause for failure, methodologies adopted for the analysis were Cause and effect analysis and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis. As a outcome of analysis to eliminate this failure a detection mechanism, Air Leak test rig was established at the end of production line to the certify that the parts were qualified as sealed version. Also product design changes were carried out to improve the sealing feature of the starter motor.

Title | : | Load Frequency Control in Power System using Internal Model Control Technique |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Elakkiya.T, Dr.R.Jayashree, Mrs.S.Jennathu Beevi |
Abstract: In this paper Load Frequency Control (LFC) for single area power system using Internal Model Control (IMC) technique is presented. Most load frequency controllers are primarily composed of an Integral controller. The main problem of the Integral controller is that it responds relatively slow to an error signal and that it can initially allow a large deviation at the instant the error is produced. This can lead to system instability. The main focus of this work is to obtain the fast error response and reduce the settling time using IMC controller. The output response of the IMC based PID controller is compared with that of an Integral controller.

Title | : | Low Power Technology for Power Reduction in Sram Using Read Stability with Reduced Transistor Count for Future Caches |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | V.Gayathri , Mrs.A.Rasheeda |
Abstract: This Paper presented Read and write assist techniques are now commonly used to lower the minimum operating voltage (Vmin) of an SRAM. The minimum supply voltage for SRAM cell is limited by write failures (write-ability) or read disturbs failures (cell stability). In the previous work, various SRAM cells are discussed which offer better variability resilience compared to the SRAM 6T cell. SRAM 6T cell functionality is highly dependent on the supply voltage. The voltage optimization can impact the write failures and the read disturb failures significantly. Here we proposed a, dynamic voltage optimization techniques, for realizing low VDD operation with the conventional SRAM 6T cell while maintaining sufficient READ/WRITE margins. Lowering an SRAM cell voltage Vdd level reduces the current to the pull-up Pmos device. As a result, this assists an SRAM's write operation with better stability. Title | : | Optimization of Machining Parameters for Face Milling Operation using ANOVA |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | G. Tamil Kumaran, R. John Stephen |
Abstract: To remain successful in today's competitive market, the manufacturers should rely on their Engineers and production professionals for quick and effective manufacturing setup and also to achieve Quality products. The machining process on a CNC Milling is programmed by speed, feed rate, and cutting depth, which are frequently determined based on the job shop experiences However, the machine performance and the product characteristics are not guaranteed to be acceptable. Therefore, the optimum Face Milling conditions have to be accomplished. This will increase the setup time and decrease the productivity. It will be interesting to machine EN19/EN31 steel with PVD and CVD coated tools on FANUC series Vertical CNC Milling for these types of experiments. At the end of this experiment, the effective of machining parameters for good surface finish are determined.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Velmurugan C , Saravanan G , Shanmugasundaram K |
Abstract: This paper presents milling machining characteristics of aluminium hybrid metal matrix composite (Al+10%sicp+5%Gr). The milling parameters used here was speed, feed, depth of cut for 3 levels. From the results it has been found that the machinability of aluminium hybrid composite is better over the aluminium composite due to the natural lubricant graphite present in it. The optimized parameters of aluminium hybrid composite was found by taguchi's L9 orthogonal array experimentation. The significant parameter was found by anova method. Minitab software has been used for taguchi's technique. The fabrication technique adopted was stir casting technique.

Title | : | Power Efficient Vlsi Architecture For High Throughput And Low Area Implementation Of Lifting 2-D Dwt |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | J.Muni Dhananjaya Babu , Mrs.B.Sudha |
Abstract: In this paper a new VLSI architecture was implemented for computation of lifting two-dimensional (2-D) discrete wavelet transform (DWT).This structure was data transposition free and it was implemented by using linear systolic array which is derived from the dependence graph(DG) and a 2-D systolic array from a segmented DG for implementation of 1-D DWT. By using these two systolic arrays a new structure for was implemented for calculation of lifting 2-D DWT. The proposed structure does not require any control signal. The synthesis results shows that the proposed structure required less gate count and power consumption and high throughput compared to existing structure. This structure was regular and it can be easily configured to different block sizes.

Abstract: Aluminum and its alloys have been used in recent times due to their light weight, moderate strength and good corrosion resistance. Aluminum alloy 7075-T6 has been researched upon especially as a potential candidate for aircraft material. This alloy is difficult to weld using conventional welding techniques like GTAW and GMAW. An attempt has been made in this paper to weld 7075-T6 alloy using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. The welding experiment was carried out on Odor, Chennai and tensile strength tested on Ministry of Micro and small and Medium Enterprises Testing Center, Government of India, Chennai for the purpose of improving tensile strength. In order to formulate the equation between important welding parameters like current (I), Voltage (V), Welding Speed (WS) and Gas flow (GS) (predictors) and tensile strength (response) so that multiple regression as chosen and validated this model using SPSS 16 and process parameters are optimized by using TORA software.

Title | : | Identification Of Manimuthar River Course Changes And Estimation Of Command Area In Ambasamudram Taluk Using Remote Sensing And Gis |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | G.Jeba Sweetline, Sangeetha |
Abstract: Water management practices in India have major concern in recent years to aid sustainable irrigation system in the Country. The application of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System has been increased to study and address the various issues relevant to the management of irrigation systems and the agricultural information derived from the satellite data forms the basic input for the study. There has been a significant increase in river bank encroachment in India in the la st few decades. This is largely because of rapid population growth and economic development in the country, leading to increased anthropogenic activities along the river lines. Sand excavation along the river banks has become a major environmental issue in our country. River Course Monitoring is an important part of river management system, which requires much attention to protect the natural resources in our environment. This project aims at proper management of water and agriculture attempts to identify the sites where the changes in the river course and command area have been largely affected .Based on the above observations statistics is generated to provide an overview of the modifications in the river channel and irrigated agriculture land. The present study focuses on finding course changes in the Manimuthar River and crop command area estimation in Ambasamudram Taluk, Tamilnadu using GIS techniques. Raster Overlay tool of ArcView GIS software was used for identification of changed areas. Manual method of demarcation of channel changes is very tedious. Integration and correlation of the information related to the factors considered for water monitoring, which is very complex, can be handled easily with GIS. The ability of GIS based overlay analysis helps us to make decision about the identification of areas that have been susceptible to course and command area change over a period of twelve years.

Abstract: In recent years, a DC-DC converter with high output voltage is mainly used for transferring the energy from any renewable sources to conventional AC systems. The Photo Voltaic (PV) energy system is a very new concept in use, which is gaining popularity due to increasing importance to research on alternative sources of energy over depletion of the conventional fossil fuels world-wide. Among various converter topologies the Interleaved Boost Converter has low ripples in both input current and output voltages. Reductions in size and electromagnetic emission along with an increase in efficiency, transient response, and reliability are among the many advantages to using such interleaved boost converters. In this paper a two phase interleaved boost converter is designed for photo voltaic generation system using MATLAB/Simulink software.
