Title | : | Strength And Durabilityassessment Of Bacteria Based Self-Healing Concrete |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Meera C. M.1, Dr. Subha V. |
Abstract: In recent years, there is increasing interest in the phenomenon of mechanical property recovery in concrete construction using self-healing concrete. The study was motivated by the need to find a solution for the problem of cracking approaching the concept of self-healing concrete. The study was carried out on a bacteria based self-healing concrete using Bacillus Subtilis bacteria. The present paper describes the effect of this bacteria on the strength of concrete. An investigation on the strength assessment of the bacteria-based self-healing concrete by finding out the optimum amount of bacterial content to be added to obtain maximum strength is depicted in this. Title | : | Comparison Between Paper Sludge And Rice Husk Ash As A Stabilizing Agent For Soft Soil |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Meenu Prakash, Rekha Raveendran |
Abstract: Soil stabilization is the alteration of property of locally available soil to improve its engineering performance. Stabilization can increase the shear strength of soil and control shrink – swell properties of soil, thus improving the load bearing capacity of a sub grade to support the pavements and foundation. The objective of this paper is to expose the possibilities of paper sludge and rice husk ash in soil improvement and comparison of the results. Both paper sludge and rice husk ash are waste materials which cannot be disposed easily. The main objective of this paper is to check which stabilizing agent will give more strength. This paper involves the detailed study with various

Abstract:Water using as coolant in refineries can be cooled using a cooling tower of various types. This project deals with natural draft type in which, hot water comes in direct contact with the natural cool air, due to its hyperbolic shape. In this project, software modeling, analysis, design and estimation of a cooling tower was done for a site in gas fired power plant for M/S Torrent Energy at Dahej, Gujarat. Study of effect of variations in the tower height and shell thickness on the structural behavior, study of comparison between different seismic analysis methods such

Title | : | Bathymetric Survey To Study The Sediment Deposit In Reservoir Of Peechi Dam |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Ajith A. V. |
Abstract: Bathymetric survey is a direct method for the assessment of sedimentation distribution and its bed profile in the reservoir of dams. This method is mainly used to estimate the capacity of reservoir and there by the amount of sedimentation. Peechi dam reservoir is selected for the study by conducting bathymetric survey with the help of "Sedimentation division of Govt. Irrigation department'' in Peechi. The survey was conducted when the reservoir level reached FRL. The equipments used to conduct bathymetric survey are DGPS, NS-415 echo-sounder, sound velocity prob, survey PC. The software used for the calculations are navisoft survey software and surfer software Keywords - Bathymetry, Sediment, Dam, Reservoir, DGPS, Eco sounder

Title | : | Simulation of Pressure Variation in Hydraulic circuit with & without Hydraulic Accumulator in MATLAB-Simhydraulics |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Cherian Johny1, Dr.K.RSivadas2 |
Abstract: The paper represents the modeling and simulation of a hydraulic circuit with and without accumulator in order to find variation of pressure in hydraulic system at the time of improper operation or malfunctioning. The cause of malfunction is due to fluid leakage, overheating, pressure drop, valve damage etc. The variation of pressure is monitored according to the spool movement inside the directional control valve. The hydraulic circuit is modeled in MATLAB-Simhydraulic using following details like working fluid, working Temperature, Technical details
