Abstract: There are number of factors which affect the quality of product, time of work, cost , waste of material, etc. the objective of construction industry is to complete a project within a stipulated time, cost as per required standard and specifications , minimum waste efficient use of resource. This paper describes the study on Six Sigma and quality improvement in building construction using Six Sigma principle. By using the DMAIC methodology of Six Sigma which help to identify the quality of existing structure by analyzing the defects that will suggest in DFSS for changes that required in current work.

Title | : | Effect of Fly Ash on Stabilization of Silty Soil |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Poonam D Patil || Yogesh N. Bafna || P. P. Patil |
Abstract: Soil stabilization is the process of increasing strength and bearing capacity of soils either by mechanical or chemical methods. Stabilization also eliminates or decreases settlements, hydraulic conductivity and swell and shrinkage potential.The mechanical method of stabilization involves the change of gradation of the soil and densifying the soil by mechanical methods such as rollers. Chemical stabilization involves altering the properties by adding cement, lime or any other cementations material.In this study an attempt has made to investigate the usefulness of Fly Ash to stabilize silty soils...........

Title | : | Review of optimization of mixed flow impeller using Ansys CFX |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Prof. Prashant.S. Raut || Prof.Deepak.K.Patil || Prof.Gopal A.Wadnere |
Abstract:In this paper, the results from numerical studies of the mixed flow through a mixed flow pump is presented here and compared with the measurements. The final results matches well with measurements at best efficiency flow conditions. The entire range of H-Q characteristics is predicted and has matched well with the measurements. The predictions for efficiency at off design flow conditions are seen to be deviating from the one actually measured. Some more investigation needs to be done in this direction. Similar exercise is being carried out for pumps with different specific speeds. CFD analysis with ansys cfx is an effective tool to calculate quickly and inexpensively the effect of design and operating parameters of the pump. with properly designing pump impeller the efficiency of pump can be improved.

Title | : | Solar Parabolic Trough - A Review of Performance Analysis |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Kavya Dwivedi || Prashant Jain |
Abstract: Solar technology offers great potential in terms of supplying the world's energy needs. However its contribution to the energy market is very limited. The main factor for it is its high initial cost and low efficiency of system. Thus, in order to encourage and facilitate studies about the solar concentrator this paper is concerned with the detail study of parabolic trough collector. Working principle as well as performance analysis is discussed further. Using the energy equations, thermal efficiency of the system can be predicted.

Title | : | Productivity Improvement Using Auto Weight Grading For Connecting Rod |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Akshay V. Sakure || Akash R. Tavarej || Ayesha K. Sayyed || Prashant S Ingole || Prof. Rahul R. Chakule |
Abstract: Manual Weight Grading is a method that is being used in industry for grading the connecting rod especially in automobile industry. This cycle time of Manual Weight Grading is more which affect the productivity and results in less production. Manual Weight Grading requires more labors to carry out the process which results to high labor cost for production. This paper presents an alternative method for Manual Weight Grading which is Auto Weight Grading. This method is totally based on automation and requires single person can do the complete work activity on work piece...........

Title | : | Optimization of Machining Parameter for Surface Roughness |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Omprakash Waikar || Swapnil Nikam || Rahul More || Shivam Shinde || Rahul Chakule |
Abstract: Surface finish is integral part for any workpiece to work properly in service life. The different parameters are affects on surface quality like coolant flow rate, table speed and depth of cut. The small scale and medium scale industries generally neglect the parameters while working. Due to unoptimised machining parameters results in poor surface finish, wheel wear and wastage of coolant. Hence, an optimized technique is proposed in this study to overcome these problems. In this paper the author has suggested three parameters namely table speed, depth of cut and coolant flow rate and response parameter is surface roughness of workpiece. The machine selected for experimentation is horizontal...........

Abstract: In the process or manufacturing industry, raw materials and products need to be transported from one manufacturing stage to another. Material handling equipment are designed such that they facilitate easy, cheap, fast and safe loading and unloading with least human interference. For instance, belt conveyor system can be employed for easy handling of materials beyond human capacity in terms of weight and height. This project discusses the design calculations and considerations of belt conveyor system for press machines, in terms of size, length, capacity and speed, roller diameter, power and tension, idler spacing, type of drive unit, diameter, location and arrangement of pulley...........
